In 2004, I finshed by Nutrition and Dietetics qualifications. I became a dietitian because grew up watching someone I love with a chronic condition unable to make the health changes it need for their body to keep up with all the things they wanted to do.
Then when I was 28, I had to put all my own knowledge and skills to the test. I was dignosed with Anklyosing Spondylitis, a condition and cause severe pain and chronic inflammation. The pain made it difficult to even move at times and I had a young family and I was in a stressful job a the District Director of Nutrition and Dietetics in a large regional hospital.
I used my clincial and coaching knowledge and started making changes to my life, diet, mindset. I went from being unable to walk to running a trialthon, having another child and doing it again.
I have set myself a larger goal of doing a 1/2 marathon. With damage all though my back and pelvis and a business life running my business, and helping my husband run his business and our farm, and running around after my kids, I wouldn't have it any other way. I am thriving!
I know it can be hard and sometimes helpless but it is not. There is always something else to try. There is always another step to take, you just have to be willing to take it.
I have now also done my Level 3, Health and Wellness coaching and love spending my days working with people who need to make changes to there own lives so they can thrive without their body letting them down.
